South Hinksey and Little Tew

Yesterday the temperature had gone up by at least five degrees, the sun was shining and we saw the first snowdrops.
‘A’ is on holiday this week and so we took a circular walk to a village not too far away.

That put us in the mood for a drive further out into Oxfordshire and so we decided to go to Little Tew where our favourite country pub is.

As we arrived in Tew we could smell the wood smoke from the chimneys, hear the birds singing in the hedgerows down the lanes and someone shooting game on farmland. We could tell that one cottager had already had a successful shoot by the brace of pheasants hanging up.

It was much colder and muddier than our earlier walk as we were further into the countryside so we didn't need any coaxing to be enticed into the pub to sit in front of a roaring fire with a glass of ginger wine and steaming cup of tea
